sig p238 vs glock 42

sig p238 vs glock 42

Sig P238 Vs Glock 42 - Well, summer is more than half over. Maybe you're trying to carry a larger handgun. But you often find yourself giving it up. Because you can't wear clothes that match. Here's the good news: In most parts of the country. For the next two months the Air Pocket will remain a pistol. We examine two handguns worthy of your consideration.

Both the SIG P238 and the Glock 42 are chambered for the .380 ACP cartridge. Considered too weak for self-defense, that has changed over the past decade. Credit Kel-Tech for releasing the Micro P3AT .380 ACP model, which has gained widespread acceptance among gun buyers. This prompted other manufacturers to bring out the Micro .380.

Sig P238 Vs Glock 42

Sig P238 Vs Glock 42

The .380 ACP cartridge is valuable for those who cannot handle a more powerful cartridge, and those who want a deep pocket pistol prefer the smaller .380 pistols. There are micro 9mm pistols on the market, but not as small as the .380 micro gun. I have several 9mm that fit nicely in some of my jeans pockets. But it doesn't fit in most of my trouser pockets. Small .380 pistols are invaluable for those days when those pants are too big or too wide.

Glock 42 380acp, Apollo Custom, 3.26\

As you can see from the specs below, the G42 is less than half an inch longer and slightly taller. But that was negated by adding finger grip extensions to the P238 (more on that later).

The P238 I got was Desert Tan. It also features a one-inch round extension on the handguard that raises the overall height of the pistol to 4.4 inches. Finally, the Desert Tan model has nice hog rubber grips and inflated palm swells.

In my opinion, there is a point of diminishing recoil with a subcompact handgun, a point when the pistol is sitting in your hand when fired, as good as modern .380 rounds, but the attacker has a good chance of it. Yours won't fall on the first shot. So accurate follow-up shots are essential. If the pistol moves in your hand you need to fix the handle properly. This will waste your time and eventually lead to death. Another benefit of a thicker grip is that it allows the trigger finger to be positioned. The extra width prevents you from taking your fingers too far. The finger extension and inflatable grip make it feel like you're holding a real handgun, unlike many of the smaller handguns on the market today.

Adjustable night sights that are large enough to work. Night sights, inch extensions, and inflated rubber grips give this pistol excellent shootability.

How Many Carry A Glock 42

The P238 is now a standalone pistol, designed to be carried and locked.

The decision to purchase and carry this handgun requires intensive training. Because of the difference in weapon usage between a single-action handgun and a striker-fired revolver or handgun. Make safety work part of your muscle memory. So the disengagement and engagement of the safety is an automatic response when you file or holster the pistol. If your regular pistol is a 1911, you already have one. If not, you need to develop one. When you practice that means you should wear the safety after shooting each string. Remove it when you start shooting the next string. Too many people go into the field with a 1911 and never practice engaging and disengaging the safety.

That makes the trigger As you can see from the specs listed above, it weighs 7.5 pounds. Now, 1911 fanatics are looking for the same lighter trigger as the full size 1911. Make do with the P238 because the 1911s don't have the 3-pound pull they liked. You don't want a handgun that pulls 3-pounds. You judge yourself as negligent in pulling your trigger. Also, it can't be made in a smaller gun. The sled, that is, provides a smooth and light pull. There is not enough room on the microframe for the sliding trigger. So the P238's trigger is hinged. I can attest that it was smooth for very little time and within the range of a well-tuned revolver trigger. The way it is is good.

Sig P238 Vs Glock 42

This is a Glock. Nothing more to say. It's a Glock through and through. If you like Glocks, you'll love this one. If you don't like Glocks, you'll hate this one too. The only difference between this Micro Glock and its bigger brother is the width and height. Let's talk about these two points.

Sig Sauer P238: The Best 1911 Inspired Gun On The Planet?

A bit larger than most small pistols but I am comfortable with the height. What I don't like is that a Glock can only hold 6 rounds in its magazine given the height of this pistol. I really wish there was at least a 7 round magazine.

The width of the pistol is too small for me. It was swimming in my hand while I was shooting. I will buy this pistol. (I'll probably buy it.) I'll add a Pierce grip extension and a Pachmyer grip glove. That's about $40, well spent.

Not much to say about the Glock. Let's take a closer look at how both pistols shoot.

I never shot a new pistol that I wasn't familiar with. I always start with a 15 foot target. I didn't show the first 15 foot target because all 12 shots landed about 3 inches to the left of the target bullseye. I threw that goal away. I moved the rear sight all the way to the right and it moved to the left of the bullseye as seen above. The rounds became more acceptable when I moved the aiming point to the right of the target. However, even though I now have serious concerns about the G42's accuracy, I went ahead and aimed at 21 feet.

Buy Sig Sauer P238 Trigger Guard Holster Online

Although the back image is to the right. But this round hit the center mass as well and my faith in the Glock was restored.

At 21 feet, the P238 fired at the target except for one pilot on the left, which was always my first round.

Even at 35 feet, the Glock kept all rounds on the 8-inch target with sufficient accuracy for defensive purposes.

Sig P238 Vs Glock 42

So, here we have two pocket .380s, one of which will please 1911 shooters and the other acceptable to shooters who prefer striker-fired pistols. The Glock 42 should set you back around $427.00 and the SIG P238 will run you between $599.00. $650.00 depending on how shiny you want the slide and grip. These are comforting to have in your pocket as a backup to a larger gun or as a primary handgun if you can't carry a larger gun.

sig p320 vs glock

Sig P320 Vs Glock - There are a plethora of different handguns to choose from these days and countless opinions on each.

While it's important to choose the handgun that's best for you, you should get a second opinion before making your final decision.

Sig P320 Vs Glock

Sig P320 Vs Glock

As for the Sig Sauer P320 and Glock 19, the first thing we can say about these guns is that they are both popular in the US. These quality weapons are packed with great features and most importantly – they are both reliable.

Sig Sauer P320 X Ten Vs. Springfield Armory Xd M Elite Osp: Hi Cap 10mm Review

Since it's more difficult to decide between these two beauties, let's look at each one separately. Once you have a clear picture of what each has to offer, we'll do a little comparison to make your decision a little easier.

This interchangeable pistol system seems to be very popular right now. That's not to say it shouldn't happen. While a modular pistol is not an unprecedented idea, Sig Sauer has one of the most efficient designs for changing frames, grip sizes, slide lengths, and calibers.

While many companies offer adjustable backstrap panels, Sig Sauer decided to go with a replaceable frame instead. These frames are available in various sizes; Compact, subcompact, carry and full size. Each frame is sold separately. Of course, since you can change the frame, you can also change the size of the frame.

Also, if you want to shoot different types of cartridges, you can use caliber conversion. So, to put things into perspective, once you buy a Sig Sauer P320, you have a variety of ways to use it. So far the Sig seems unbeatable. Let's move on to the frame sizes.

Sig Sauer P320 Vs. Glock: A Battle For 9mm Gun Supremacy

Has a 3.9 inch barrel and measures 7.2 inches long, 1.3 inches wide and 5.3 inches tall. It weighs 25.8 ounces and has a magazine capacity of 15+1.

Has a 3.6" barrel and measures 6.7" long, 1.3" wide and 4.7" high. Weighing 24.9 ounces, this frame has a magazine capacity of 12+1.

5.5 inches tall, but other than that it's basically the same as the compact frame. However, being tall, this frame has a magazine capacity of 17+1.

Finally, the full size frame has a 4.7 inch barrel and is 8 inches long, 1.3 inches wide and 5.5 inches long, the frame has a magazine capacity of 17+1.

With this model, Sig Sauer decided to improve some features of the Sig Sauer P250, especially the trigger.

This pistol provides a very accurate shot, so if you consider yourself an expert shooter, the P320 will improve your shot.

The thought of buying all these frame sizes will surely appeal to you, though the price is yet to be discussed. After all, it will cost you a penny.

Pistols, you really have a lot of variety. However, before we jump to any conclusions, let's take a look at the Glock 19.

My Competition Pistols (p320 X5 Legion And G34.5). Waiting On Sro Mounting Plate And Upgrades For The Sig Still.

Glocks are used by police departments, special operations units, and of course, the US military. Overall, they are a popular weapon, mostly because they are

Plus, the Glock is probably one of the most reliable pistols you'll come across. With almost no maintenance, this weapon brings functionality to a whole new level.

First, the Glock 19 is between compact and full size, making it easy to conceal. However, it can also be used as a home defense weapon, and don't forget - a ranged weapon. It is as multifaceted as we can easily say.

Sig P320 Vs Glock

The Glock 19 has a simple mechanical construction with very few internal parts. Moreover, this pistol is adjustable and all parts are easily replaced.

Sig P320 Rxp Full Vs Glock 17 Mos

We mentioned that the Glock 19 is similar in size to the compact frame of the P320. It has a 4.01" barrel, is 4.99" long, 1.8" wide and slightly longer than the P320 Compact. Weighing 23.65 ounces, the Glock 19 has a magazine capacity of 15+1.

Overall, the Glock is slightly lighter than the P320, mostly due to the amount of polymer in the pistol.

Our favorite feature of the Glock is how it shoots. Simply put, this pistol just feels comfortable, and that's probably because of the trigger.

The Glock 19 may not be loaded with features, but it's certainly a simple weapon that you can rely on, and that's what counts.

Sig Sauer Faces Potential Class Action Suit Over 'drop Fire' Issue With Popular Pistol

Do means you compare the two. Hopefully after reading this you will have a clearer picture of which one is right for you.

First, if you want to buy a reliable carry gun that is lightweight and comfortable to use, then the Glock 19 is the right choice for you. It's lighter than the Sig Sauer P320 and is about as simple a weapon as you can get.

Next, let's look at interchangeability. In this case, the P320 is the ultimate champion. You simply cannot understand how versatile this weapon is! Buying a pistol gives you many different possibilities. The P320 is one weapon you can't get enough of.

Sig P320 Vs Glock

The Sig Sauer P320 is also an excellent choice for those of you who live in areas with strict gun laws, for obvious reasons.

Overlanding Gear Review: Sig Sauer P365 Sas

However, the P320 loses points to the Glock when it comes to safety. The Glock 19 is one of the safest handguns out there. This is not to say that the Sig Sauer P320 is not completely safe to use. We just prefer the Glock in this case.

Basically both these weapons are exceptional in their own way. Have you decided which one to prioritize?

You're here to find out what each weapon has to offer. After all, they are very different, but they both have specific features that suit a person's needs.

If you're looking for versatility, the Sig Sauer P320 is your best bet. If it's reliability you're looking for, the Glock 19 is unbeatable in that area. Ultimately, it's more about versatility than reliability. It all depends on your personal preferences.

Examining The Military's Decision: Sig Sauer P320 Vs. Glock 19x

Overall, both of these weapons are high quality products and the bottom line is that you can't go wrong choosing one over the other.

Born and raised in Missouri, Mark now lives in Murray with his wife and two children. As a gun owner and hunting enthusiast, he regularly participates in debates surrounding the Second Amendment. To compare the Glock 19 vs the SIG P229, we need to bring it back to basics. Although "good" is a subjective term, it's still a good question. Both of these are my favorites. I won't take an "agnostic" approach - really definitely won't side with one or the other. This article will prove the quality of both.

Asking me to choose between a Glock 19 and a SIG P229 is like asking me which car is better: an Audi or a BMW. Both have great driving experience and it comes down to what the person likes. Sure, one has certain features that are "better" than the other and vice versa, but again it comes down to personal preference. For both, I would depend on them for my life. I'll elaborate on what I like about both if that helps.

Sig P320 Vs Glock

This is a pistol designed specifically with the .40 S&W round in mind. Sure, it's a little heavy, but that's the point. For something that shoots something as mischievous as a .40, the recoil is very mild. My favorite "vintage" is the 90's semi-serrated stainless steel slide and rounded trigger guard - nothing to hook on when worn under a jacket. I don't mind the high bore axis when it comes to sight picture. I don't need to crane my neck for a visual picture.

Sig M18 9mm X Change Kit

I also like the grip angle because it looks like a natural "fist" if I have to use it in a stressful situation. I installed the new E2 grip on it and it is even better in terms of good purchase on the grip as well as tactile feel. I also installed a Gregans intermediate trigger on it. I also plan to install a short reset trigger kit.

I also installed a 19 lbs mainspring so I have a smooth double action pull and still guarantee a decisive primer strike from the hammer. It goes without saying, but ankle action is sharp. I also had a chance to try the 9mm version. Recoil is very low.

I'm impressed that a pistol of this caliber is as slim and light as it is. I appreciate the no-nonsense slide. It's relatively slim and the tenniser nitro carburized finish makes it incredibly tough. I personally like the Glock 19 Gen 3 and 4 formats (I appreciate the finger grooves). The short bore axis makes it a very easy point-and-shoot pistol. The stock of plastic sights unfortunately leaves much to be desired.

sig p320 vs glock 17

Sig P320 Vs Glock 17 - While, we try to put all the guns we review through a standard reliability test that we call "dirt test", which basically involves hitting the gun against the wall and seeing how many shots it takes for it to behave normally after that. For a long time, the Glock 17 Genesis 4 was the king - it had only one function, before it became a good shot. When we got our hands on the Sig Sauer P320 for review, however, we were interested to see if it would open up a Glock. We have recently changed some of our dirt testing methods, digging dirt naturally and using diatomaceous earth (DE) instead of needing to re-test the Glock anyway. Since we also had the P320 on hand, it was only natural to test them at the same time and up.

Note: The Glock 17 used in this test was made in the US at the Glock factory in Smyra, Georgia, not the main Glock factory in Austria.

Sig P320 Vs Glock 17

Sig P320 Vs Glock 17

Two pistols were DE-contaminated and tested twice, once dry and after immersion in water.

Sig P320 M18 9mm

In the dry test, the Sig and Glock each showed strengths and weaknesses, but in reality it was neck and neck. Glock blew a 9-point deficit, losing to Sig who was only 5 points longer. Sig also gave the Glock only 4 shots to fire properly, while the Glock required 8 shots.

However, the Sig had a major problem with the rear-locked slide not releasing - the gun had to be hit very close for it to work. The Glock, although it performed more poorly and took longer to fire properly, did not experience any 'shows' like the Sig's closed slide, so we consider both guns to be on the same level when compared to dry testing. Additionally, a large amount of DE is moved to the front of the Sig when you move it to open the slide, and this may have helped the gun shoot well in 4 shots while the Glock, which has never been hit, took 8 shots.

In the wet test, both guns performed very poorly. The Sig misfired 15 times in the first magazine, although it also misfired the Glock 18 times, although neither gun fired correctly. However, the Sig suffered from 3 malfunctions (the slide locked multiple times in a non-removal counter), requiring close misses to work each time. In contrast, the Glock also does not have major malfunctions.

We gave each gun another 5 rounds to recover from the wet test and the Glock took off, only going 3 rounds to match the Sig 5. However, neither gun was able to fire properly.

Sig Sauer P320 Full Size Pistol 17 Rd 9mm

We decided to give the gun a little shot of something hot: 5 rounds each of Federal Syntech Defense 138gr HPs. Amazingly, both guns fired all five shots without a single hiccup. Now we were curious about the stop, so we discussed and solved the last "problem": 5 rounds each made of aluminum Federal Premium FMJ, because aluminum is not as good as brass but both guns ate those special bullets. I am always happy. Glock emphasized the leadership of the P320 with another clean five-point chain, while the P320 has a dual action FMJ made of aluminum.

Note: The function is not disabled by failure to access the battery, failure to download, failure to charge, and failure to feed the basic information table under the title. Detailed information about the test preparation and procedure, as well as additional photos taken during the test, are also provided below.

In total shots fired, the Sig misfired the Glock 27 times, while the Glock misfired 30 times. However, due to the Glock's complete lack of poor performance/performance, and the fact that the Glock ended up shooting better (10 shots without fail between the Federal Syntech and FMJ made aluminum) while the Sig did not, we conclude that the Glock 17 beats the P320 Carry in terms of reliability in dust and mud.

Sig P320 Vs Glock 17

At the end of the test, we considered using Winchester Made FMJ steel instead of Federal Premium aluminum, but decided against it since the P320 would burn those bullets even if they were clean. This also solidifies the Glock's position as a reliable winner - the Glock eats everything the Sig eats, and it eats the Winchester Forged without a problem.

Glock 17 Vs. 19

However, it is worth noting that the difference in actual reliability is not dramatic. DE-grade cartridges are lightweight and very fine, so they affect the performance of the gun more than exposure to dust or mud. It's quite possible that in real-world use, with real-world dirt, the Glock's edge in reliability would be difficult or impossible to achieve (unless you want to shoot a Winchester Forged, of course).

Remarkable: Not one gun has ever misfired, or misfired in any way. If this test doesn't shut down their attackers' networks, it's doubtful that anything will.

Highlights: Federal Syntech Defense 138gr HP It's a solid defense from a reliability point of view - it quickly turns the gun from hot mess to high performance. However, it's also possible that better defensive bullets would do the trick. More testing is needed to say for sure.

Both guns were stripped and cleaned. After cleaning, the oil is used to pull and assemble the beaters, then the oil is used to route and cut the barrel. Revolvers are cleaned at the same time, on the same bench, with the same tools and cleaning products / lubricants.

Battle Of The Compact Pistols: P320c Vs. Glock 19 Vs. Cz P 10c

The oil used was custom made by one of our employees: a 50-50 mix of motor oil and transmission fluid (both full), and the oil was Battle Born © gun oil.

Immediately prior to testing, each gun was fed a 10-round magazine of FMJ ammunition to 'wake it up'.

Previously, the Dirt Test was conducted using clean, contaminated dirt that was removed from the back of the shooting range. However, we are tired of giving dirt buried under the snow in the winter, and we wanted anyone, anywhere in the country, to reach one dirt to try.

Sig P320 Vs Glock 17

We considered many types of "dirt" and stayed in food grade, well-drained water and diatomaceous earth (DE), because it corresponds to the size of the particles and the composition of the product (unlike sand or dirt) and acts as a light substance (unlike talc powder). Plus, it was mined right here in the US.

Glock 17 Vs. Glock 19

Fire the gun (unloaded, but with an empty magazine) into full gear with about 2 inches of DE. Shoot the gun twice in the side (four times total) to force the other DEs into the ruins. Then, take several piles of DE and run them over the work, one at a time, to make sure everything is well bound.

Once the gun is out of DE, grab the empty mag, grab the full mag, rack, and fire. No cleaning required, no drying process. The number of rounds required for a gun to "fire properly" is to fire a series of bullets that misfire, or until you run out of magazine, at which point the gun fails the test.

The test procedure for part 2 is the same as part 1, except that the gun is cleaned in water in between. The gun is immersed in a bucket of water while the slide is installed and the gun is pulled at least ten times. This cleans the DE from part 1 in a way, allowing the second test to be done without having to go home and clean the gun first. If desired, you can repeat the wet test as many times as necessary by simply soaking, cleaning, and discarding the wet gun in DE as described above.

Sig P229 Vs Glock 19 - Glock or Sig Sauer? This question has plagued the minds of many military users, police, and forum posters for at least two decades. I used to debate whether I preferred a Glock or a Sig while messing around with mustaches and aviators in the 80's with Walkman tape recorders.

Honestly, the question isn't even fair in the context most people put it. The way many people make the question is that they are two similar platforms that seem to be of equal value. They are not. In fact, there is about a $350 price difference between the two platforms. One is polymer and one is metal. One strikes, the other hammers. One is fine and the other looks like... well, well, I'll leave that up to you. Regardless, Glock and Sig are two of the most popular handgun brands out there

Sig P229 Vs Glock 19

Sig P229 Vs Glock 19

Interest in concealed carry has increased this year, particularly because of the 9th Circuit's Peruta decision, which put California on the hook. It was a major decision for the Golden State, and some finally had the ability to carry concealed make them think gold and shell out money for the latest and greatest compact handgun. One of the hottest selling compact pistols this year is the Glock 19 Gen 4. Although the Gen 4 has been around for a few years, people have been reluctant to buy it in 2012 due to FTF issues. tested with the first models. Now that Glock has fixed these issues, Gen 4 Glocks are flying off the shelves and stores are scrambling to keep them in stock. Another compact handgun that has gained popularity in the last couple of years is the lesser-known Sig Sauer M11-A1, the company's flagship Glock handgun.

Glock 19 Gen 4 Vs. Sig Sauer M11 A1

So I thought, "What better comparison test than between a Glock and a Sig of equal caliber and size?" And we're talking about a compact ride, and that belt doesn't have enough room for two of them.

If you want a compact 9mm that will work every time you pull the trigger, stop reading here and buy a Glock 19.

Now, it's not immediately clear that the Glock 19 is the winner or loser in this comparison (depending on how you interpret my opening statement). This is not the case. The Glock has a few drawbacks, but if you're alone in a cabin in the woods and have a gun table you don't recognize, then a Glock 19, you'd be a fool not to choose the Glock. I've shot Glocks so many times I don't even remember what they look like. Dating is second nature to a good thing, and it's a habit many people have.

4 Glock improves on classic Glock stability by including interchangeable backstraps and grips to fit your hand size and preference. Some people don't like the "blocky" Glock grip, but my long fingers don't argue with that. If you're new to Glocks, you may want to go to your gun shop and hold it to see how it feels in your hand. Plus, you should rent one from the range to see how you shoot with it. For some people, the Glock is uncomfortable to hold and therefore loses accuracy. However, the Gen 4 grip feels slimmer and more comfortable than the classic Glock block. Ergonomics should be the first consideration when looking at CCW gun options, as it affects both draw time and accuracy.

Sig P229 Legion Or 9mm, 3.9\

The overall length of the Glock 19 is 7 inches from the tip of the barrel to the farthest point from the pistol. Top to bottom (mag included) 4.8 inches. The gun comes in 1 inch wide. And according to Glock's website, the gun weighs 23.65 ounces, 30.18 ounces loaded. The Glock is lighter than the Sig M11 due to the polymer frame, but I think the difference seems small, and to me it's not noticeable when on target. Weight is a big deal with extended CCW carry, and the huge difference in weight should be noted when deciding between the two guns.

The Glock 19 performed well at the range and I was able to achieve accuracy with the 9mm pistol. The unique white eye markings on the Glock certainly help, and I'm a big fan of them. While I'm not the most practiced shooter in the shooting community, I know what a good and bad group is, and the Glock 19 didn't disappoint me. Glocks aren't the most accurate guns money can buy, but they are as accurate as any CCW gun. With a cold shot I put a hole dead center in the forehead. A gun can certainly hit anywhere, but it is in the hands of the shooter that it can be used to its full potential. The groups on the Glock 19 were not as tight as my M11, but there was no practical difference that I could notice.

The striker design on the Glock provides a rougher trigger than the Sig. Even the Sig's double-action trigger takes the cake for parity over the Glock. However, the trigger on the Glock is not heavy, and it works well for me. One thing people never talk about is the Glock trigger. It's small, and I feel so small. This allows better control when shooting and compensates for the lack of a "refined" trigger mechanism. With the Glock, I felt like I was pulling the trigger...I don't know how to describe it, every time I fired the gun, I had a lot of control over it. I never fired the gun (a common problem with double action triggers). Again, this will vary depending on your hand size, but my hands really like the Glock.

Sig P229 Vs Glock 19

With this review conducted in California, I had to use a 10 round magazine in the rifle as shown above. Yes, I can hear the neighbors in Arizona squealing and laughing, but hey, how's that beach? Anyway, the 10-round magazine rule is a joke, and I could do without it, but for all practical purposes, looking at the range won't affect them (minus the weight issue). In a real life situation, more judges would be better.

Sig Sauer P365xl Tacpac 9mm Luger 3.7in Blackened Steel Pistol

Besides holding 10 rounds, 10 round Glock mags also suffer from reliability issues. Yes, it's true, Glocks can have reliability issues. The gun itself is not unreliable, but the 10 round mag is. Users can sometimes fail to feed, which is not good in a real-life CCW situation. While I don't have a problem with them, others do. There are ways around this problem by replacing the springs, but it's something to consider if you're choosing a Glock 19 for CCW in California.

The Glock 19 is a compact CCW pistol, a solid choice for the duty pistol or target shooter. The Gen 4 improves on the Gen 3 Glocks with ultra-comfortable backstraps and a dual purge spring. It's hard to go wrong with a Glock, love how it sits in your hand and if you're in California be sure to check out the magazine.

Yes, the Sig Sauer M11-A1 is my favorite pistol and daily carry. I'm a little hesitant, as you may know from my personal observation of this gun...although the Glock is practically just as good a gun. But the question remains: Is the Sig worth the extra $350?

The first thing you'll notice when you pick up the M11 is how comfortable and balanced it is. All my M11 commenters, and folks on the Sig forum, note this as well. This positive response is a good indicator of a gun with universally comfortable ergonomics and weight. But like the Glock, some people with small hands may not like how it sits in the palm. The classic Sig grips are a bit fatter than the new E2 grips, don't worry because you can buy E2 grips for the M2 and replace the original ones. Sigs are known for their classic ergonomics, and most people will be happy with them.

Sig P365 Vs Glock 42 - A few months ago, Sig Sauer released a .380 ACP version of their best-selling P365. The P365-380 has all the same features as the original 9mm, plus an improved optical cut setup and, most importantly, a huge reduction in felt recoil. But does it perform as reliably as its 9mm counterparts?

Hey everyone, I'm Chris Baker and today we're looking at another Sig P365, but this one is chambered for .380 ACP.

Sig introduced a .380 version earlier this year. It is the same size as the original 9mm P365, so it has a 3.1 inch barrel. For now, Sig offers three variations of the .380 model: a vanilla option with standard height iron sights, a manual safety variant, and this one, which does not have a manual safety, iron sights tops and comes with the red Sig RomeoZero Elite. Dot view pre-installed.

Ammo capacity is the same as the 9mm version. You get 10 rounds in flush magazines, which also come with an optional extended finger rest. Or you can buy longer 12 round magazines. The .380 version is compatible with fire control groups and grip modules from 9mm P365. Then you can mix and match tops and bottoms like we did here. We put the .380 slide in the Wilson Combat Grip module for the 9mm XL. It works best with 12 round magazines.

You can only buy 0.380 barrels from the Sig website. But the product page warns that it is not compatible with the 9mm bolt. The .380 slide is a tenth of an inch shorter and slightly narrower. Unfortunately, Sig does not yet sell the standalone .380 slide. Until they do, it's not possible to convert your 9mm to .380 without buying a complete .380 pistol.

You might be tempted to compare this gun to the Ruger LCP Max. This is the .380 dual-stack version of the LCP. It also has a 10+1 capacity. But the LCP Max is basically the same shape as the original LCP except for the width. It's a pocket pistol and it has the kind of harsh recoil we've come to expect from pocket .380s - it's not the most fun pistol to shoot.

I've been saying for a long time that the .380 ACP shines the brightest, not in a pocket pistol, but in a pistol slightly larger than that. When you go from the LCP to the size of the Glock 42, the .380 can be a real pleasure to shoot.

Glock 42: A Critique & Micro 9mm/.380 Analysis

The P365 is about the same length and height as the Glock 42. The hilt is one tenth of an inch wide. In 9mm, the original P365 is a handful. It's not terrible to fire for 50 or 100 rounds, but it's objectively a cool weapon.

I prefer the XL version of the P365 in 9mm because it is easier to control. The longer slide and a few extra ounces from the barrel compensate for the recoil a bit. The long handle gives me a little more to hold on to. But even with the XL grip frame, the challenge that many shooters, myself included, face is that there isn't enough room for the support hand to reach there and apply the pressure that we really want. Due to the small frame dimensions, I have to train regularly with this particular gun and shoot it the way I want.

The .380 version completely changes the equation. This gun is smaller and lighter than the XL which I have fired thousands of shots with. It doesn't have any type of special grip frame or alternate texture. But the first time I took it to the lineup, I matched or bettered my best performance with the 9mm XL in half a dozen different drills. The gun is so soft that the grip of the mob doesn't really matter. You don't need to have a death grip on it to aim for this point.

Of course, this is an advantage for new shooters or anyone with grip strength or mobility issues. It is also a benefit for everyone else. No matter how well you can handle a P365 9mm, you'll shoot the .380 version just as well, or your performance will be the same, but with much less effort and practice.

Sig P365 Vs Glock 43: How They Compare

And look, I know 9mm is ballistically superior to .380 ACP. There is no way around it. We can debate how much or how often this really matters in the real world. I don't think we'll ever have a definitive answer.

What is not debatable is that I can shoot better with the .380 version of this gun. My performances are more regular. I will shoot fewer shots off target. He's more forgiving when he's not 100% tuned to all the right shooting mechanics.

But before I get too enthusiastic about this gun, I should consider some issues with other recoil .380s in this pocket size range. In the past, I've been quick to recommend the Glock 42 and the Smith & Wesson EZ 380. Like the P365-380, they're easy to shoot and, to me, they're very reliable.

However, after seeing other people shoot these guns and hearing other shooters, I realized that they weren't that reliable for everyone. Some shooters - usually inexperienced shooters - often have trouble getting these .380s to work reliably. And from some research online, it seems that the P365-380 is true.

We can get clues as to why this is happening by looking at the brass ejection pattern. The balls form a kind of soft arc and land two feet away. Compare that to the 9mm XL where they fly with more authority. That tells me it won't take long to stop this .380 slide from fully spinning.

So I tried to fire the gun with a loose grip. I tried to keep it in the frame. And sure enough, I immediately started having stovepipes.

I tried the same with the 9mm XL and the gun didn't mess up. I can actually hold the handle with just about minimal pressure, and it still works normally.

With the .380, if you have a suboptimal grip or recoil anticipation issues that require you to move the gun when you pull the trigger, you can keep the gun from cycling. This is sometimes called wrist weakness, although that's not really an accurate description of what happens most of the time. This can happen with any recoil semi-auto, but .380s larger than pocket size seem to be more susceptible to it.

Subcompacts Side By Side: The P365 X Vs. The Hellcat

When I use a normal shooting handle, it's fine. Be sure to lift the strap with your hand as high as possible on the back strap and tighten it at least under the pressure of a firm handshake. I know some people have had trouble cycling the P365-380 despite getting a good grip on the gun. It seems like some of them have a break-in period where they can be a little temperamental for the first few hundred laps, and then they run fine.

Magazines may be part of the problem there. The P365 mag springs are extremely tight. This goes for the .380 version and the 9mm. I've seen new magazines come in and cause trouble. If you leave them fully charged for a few days or charge and discharge them multiple times, they slow down a bit.

Ammo can also be a factor. If you can't get it to work with one load, try a few other loads. We originally had two stovepipes with 95 grit Blazer brass, but switched to 90 grit PMC, and about 400 rounds was fine until I tried this with a weak grip.

One feature that I really like about this specific version of P365 is the way they set up sites. With the exception of the .380 and some newer 9mm variants, mounting a red dot on the P365 means you lose the rear iron sight. In this version, not only are the optics advanced so you can keep your rear sight, you also get extra high sights that are co-witness with the red dot.

The Slim Line (glock 42, 43, 43x & 48) (sig P365)

The standard .380 model comes with the same optical cut on the slide. Then you can add the optics of your choice and install the high sights, which are on Sig's online store for $100. Depending on the optics, it'll cost you less than $200 in total, and possibly a whole lot more.

MSRP for the .380 with Sig optics is $750 versus $600 for non-optical variants. Seems like a pretty good deal for the extra $150. But only if the Sig Romeo Zero Elite Optic is better.

Optical.
